Anchovies

Our shallow water school of anchovies is growing up.  Don't know how big they get, but these 3-inchers would make great canapes at a beach BBQ.

Fish buddies on our reef

For some reason, yellow coris and wrasse tend to hang out together.  This coris (the larger fish) is a particularly decorative example of the species.

Undersea sculptures

Jason deCaires Taylor has for many years been planting undersea sculptures like this one at locations near enough to shore that the occasional swimmer or snorkeler will encounter them.  (The sculptures are so constructed that as coral colonizes them they become nifty fish habitats.)  Sounds like a great Windsockers project to me.  Check out his website for many great pix:   http://www.underwatersculpture.com/

Swimming through 10,000 sardines..

Every winter, our beach is blessed with schools of silvery sardines.  Undisturbed, they cluster together in a tight globe.  When you swim through, they swoop and swirl around you.  It's a delightful experience.

One of the Windsockers shot this underwater video today.
